To manufacture a divider panel used in a commercial electrical enclosure, Ernie's Tool Time puts our experience in waterjet cutting to use. The divider panel, working to the customer's specifications, measures 30" x 23.44" x 2.5" (to +/- 0.010"), using 16 gauge cold rolled steel. Stamping or laser cutting a part this small in such a tight area would deform the parent material, so our engineers determined that waterjet cutting, using our 50,000 psi waterjet, would produce a part to the client's requirements.
Once waterjet cutting is completed, we form the features of the part using our LVD press brake with a CNC back gauge. Finally, we apply a powder coated finish. The customer also requires documented 100% inspection each time we run the part. We run this piece in volumes of 20, and deliver orders shrink wrapped and palleted to our customer in Mocksville, NC. |
